Dark Magician Girl
Ok, well, I finally got through to my family and They know I want to be female.

Right now I'm in college and would like to Cross dress, I have like 4 pairs of hoop earings and some mascara and some clothing. But Turns out, My room mate is a homophobe =/ So yeah, just adding on top of fear.

I'm at the point to where I don't care what people think about me when I become Me in a sense. But With my homophobic Room mate x.x Kinda scares me T_T

What should I do and how should I approach being female?

I bet by the time you're wearing that dress and prancing around the college campus in a pair of stillettos, this alleged "homophobe" room mate of yours will be trying to mount you left, right and centre. You have been warned. wink.gif

Dark Magician Girl: My advice is to be careful with your roommate. No need to invite trouble. Your gender identity is your business. It will probably be best for you to find locations and groups of people who will be accepting and supportive. There may come a point in time where you are totally out or that you begin living as a female 24/7, but it doesn't sound like you're there yet.

I would like to recommend The Transgender Guide at www.tgguide.com as a resource for you. It is free and quite informative. They also have some opportunities for you to chat with other people who are at various points on the gender continuum and at various stages of progress. That might be helpful for you.

Best of luck on your journey.

Hugs 'n Kisses,

Depending on where you go to college, there might also be peer support groups, or, if you go to school in a big city, other means of moral and psychological support.

Like Kristy said, though, be safe. And be comfortable with your own body and your own decisions. Just because you find peers and/or people who are supportive doesn't mean that they are necessarily going to give you good advice.
